Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, known simply as Pablo Picasso (Malaga, October 25, 1881 - April 8, 1973) was a painter, sculptor and lithographer Spanish world famous, considered one of the protagonists of twentieth-century painting.

Joint crucial between the nineteenth-century tradition and contemporary art, Picasso was an innovator and multifaceted artist, leaving an indelible mark on art history for being the founder of Cubism with Georges Braque.

After a stormy youth, well expressed in the paintings of the so-called blue and pink periods, since the twenties of the twentieth century experienced a meteoric fame.
